EV development parts at Kajul

Kajul, the Midlands-based engineering development company, were faced with the challenge of providing low volume component, originally destined to be a machined casting, as a production part.

The component in question was a vital element for powering an electric vehicle. There were exacting tolerances to be worked within. Added to this was the need to deliver in short order, critical to the timing of the vehicle development.

Darren Laker, General Manager at Kajul said “On receiving the enquiry we worked closely with the customer identifying areas that could be altered without compromising the function of the design. Using VISI cad we designed fixturing for holding the part on our 5-axis machine, and utilising Work NC we were quickly able to produce samples for our customer to evaluate. All of this accompanied by a full inspection report”.
