It’s not shut down for our people
From Friday 16th until Monday 26thAugust it is shutdown for Kajul, but it certainly isn’t for our ever-busy team.
It may well be an opportunity to give the machines a rest but each of our team either have adventures, challenges or travels in their sights for the shutdown.
We had a chat with each of our colleagues to find out how they were spending their week off, and without exception everyone has interesting plans. Even David, who claimed to be ‘not doing much’, will be increasing his training regime in readiness for a Nuclear Race Challenge. He plans to do a trial 10K and juggling that with childcare whilst his wife is still at work.
David’s not the only one exercising either. Andy will be wending his way ,with his family, to the beauty of the Lake District. The first thing Andy mentioned was imbibing, but don’t be fooled – there will be plenty of walking to earn that luxury, taking in the majesty of The Lakes.
Our general manager, Darren, is also drawn to lakes – he is going to Lake Garda in Italy. From where he and his friends will be visiting Venice as well as the classically picturesque town of Limone on the shores of Lake Garda. His journey there and back is not without event either – with visits to Lindberg, Saint Anton and Bruges – quite a road trip.
That’s not the only road trip planned. Although Harry will be spending time with his wife’s family and friends in Poland he is dropping his wife and children at the airport, driving onto the Eurotunnel and making his way to Belgium to meet up with friends. They will be going on to Krakow and Auschwitz before Harry rejoins his children and wife not far from the border with Ukraine. Phew.
So don’t forget we won’t be here between 16th and 26th August.
